Prof. Ihsane Ben Yahya named Ðǿմ«Ã½ President-Elect
Professor Ihsane Ben Yahya of Morocco was appointed Ðǿմ«Ã½ President-Elect during the elections held at the Ðǿմ«Ã½ General Assembly B on 8 September 2019 during the ADA Ðǿմ«Ã½ World Dental Congress in San Francisco, USA. Professor Ben Yahya will serve a two-year term before assuming the Ðǿմ«Ã½ presidency in 2021. She has been an Ðǿմ«Ã½ Council member since 2013.
"I will spare no effort to ensure that the Ðǿմ«Ã½ keeps its visibility and voice and be inclusive…in order to reduce inequalities in oral health so that the most marginalized populations will not be left behind."
Professor Ben Yahya is a committed advocate for oral health, particularly in the African region. She is the president and a founding member of the Moroccan Dental Association (Association Marocaine de Prévention Bucco Dentaire - AMPBD). Under her leadership, AMPBD has become a leader in promoting preventive strategies and offering continuing education opportunities to ensure better oral health outcomes in the country.
As a professor at the dental university in Casablanca, Morocco, Professor Ben Yahya has trained generations of dentists in Morocco. She is also the chief physician at the Center for Dental Consultations and Treatments at the CHU Ibn Rochd Hospital in Casablanca. She has also served on numerous committees, commissions, juries, and boards throughout her career in dental medicine.
Professor Ben Yahya joins newly instated Ðǿմ«Ã½ President Dr Gerhard Seeberger as the leaders of Ðǿմ«Ã½â€™s governing body.
